Gregg’s Law

Gregg’s Law — To sustain democracy there must be a separation between mass capital and the mass media.

Key to a functioning democracy is a democratic media. Democracy cannot be served by a media that creates a huge opportunity to buy the opportunity to dominate the public conversation. That is what we have now when so much of our media is funded by advertising revenue.

Universal public funding for media would result in severely limiting the opportunity to advertise in the media, which is the opportunity to buy a bigger voice.
